Rio 2016 Olympic Games

4global were contracted by the Rio 2016 Organising Committee (OC) to lead the design, development and delivery of multiple discussion exercises, hybrid discussion / simulation exercises and a Games- wide simulation (GWS) exercise. This project had to be delivered in a very condensed timeframe in a high-pressure environment given the close proximity and importance of the Games.

The project spanned a number of phases covering the design of key aspects of each exercise (aims, objectives, approach, participants etc.), development and delivery of a series of discussion exercises leading into more dynamic hybrid discussion / simulation activities to generate greater realism. The final phase saw the development and delivery of a two-day GWS exercise rehearsing operations and interactions of several hundred participants from a broad range of functions and partner organisations.

The outcome of the delivery of the exercises was to significantly enhance joint readiness within and between the OC and partner organisations.

“The advice and support made a great contribution to our readiness programme, and your in-depth operational knowledge and experience assisted the entire team.”
