RFU Rugby

365 Investment and Facility Strategy

The project included strategic advice on the roll-out of The Rugby Football Union’s Rugby 365 Artificial Grass Pitch programme– part of the Rugby World Cup 2015 legacy of delivering more than £50m investment over four years into the development of 100 AGP’s across England.

4GLOBAL produced a clear set of recommendations on how Rugby 365 should be rolled out in order to deliver high quality facilities for grass-roots rugby. A ‘live’ investment model was created, which included real-time rugby demand parameters, sourced from the DataHub and other RFU datasets, to allow for up to date customer segmentation modelling that could be applied across the UK and a full audit of current and planned facility provision.

The model used weighting, aligned with the strategic priorities of stakeholders, and capita/revenue requirements of the scheme, to prioritise investment. It underpins an online interactive mapping tool that allows the RFU facility team to support ground planning and facility investment with details including projected club members, number of RFU sites, average pitch surplus or deficiency and population density in any given area.
